I’ve long been a fan of the lemony fragrance that Weleda’s citrus range brings into my life (and I’ve written about the lemon as the “Lead Plant” in the Weleda citrus range here). I use the Citrus deodorant roll-on daily alongside the Wild Rose deodorant spray as I absolutely love the mix of citrus and rose together (I do mention this more than a few times in my article on the Wild Rose Bath & Body Care range!) The Citrus deodorant spray appears in my Top Five Basic Natural Family Buys (and was my deodorant of choice before the roll-on was launched this year). Both bring that lemon burst of sunshine that really brightens a grey morning and gives me that extra boost in the morning to power through the school run with four children to organise and get ready!
And when I need a bit of extra lift? The Citrus Refreshing Bath Milk comes into play. A few capfuls into a bath is just the thing to lift my mood (especially when I mix in a capful of the Wild Rose Bath Milk!) Tired feet? Try adding a few slices of lemon into a bowl of cold water with a dash of the bath milk and sink your hot aching feet in! Heaven!
As an added bonus, it’s SLS/SLES free and suitable for vegans.
And I’m not its only fan. What about this endorsement from Simon Cowell? Who clearly likes a lemony boost in the morning too!
The Citrus Creamy Body Wash is a top seller and features in the Weleda Heroes Ribbon Box. Just the thing for a refreshing shower, it contains sesame seed oil to help nourish your skin. It smells amazing, but I personally use the Wild Rose creamy body wash (occasionally the Sea Buckthorn) and Birch Body Scrub. It’s a case of so many choices and I can’t use everything! Especially as also in the bathroom are the Calendula Shampoo & Bodywash and my partner’s favourite of Arnica. I like to mix citrus and rose fragrances and I follow up with the citrus roll on. SLS/SLES free and suitable for vegans.
For after your bath or shower, Weleda brings you a choice of Citrus Refreshing Body Oil or Citrus Hydrating Body Lotion. Both bring that hit of lemon goodness. The oil is in a base of Sweet Almond oil (please see my article on Sweet Almond for why this oil is such a fantastic choice for skin!) and the lotion is a blend containing sesame oil, coconut oil, shea butter and aloe vera – making it a fantastic product to soothe tight, maybe over-sunned skin. I’ve always been a big body oil fan, but this summer I’m looking at the Citrus Body Lotion as a potential swap (because I’m not a big user of sunscreen and sometimes spend a little too long gardening in the sun…)
Last, but certainly not least is the Citrus Hand and Nail Cream. As with the other products from the citrus range, it has the same refreshing lemon-scent. It is said to help support dry hands and brittle nails. Whilst I certainly have hands that are very prone to dryness, my nails are very far from brittle, so I can’t comment on the cream’s effectiveness for nails. However, it does smell absolutely amazing and would be a pleasure to use if brittle nails were a problem.
I’m a confirmed user of Skin Food to target my often rough, dry hands – not a great look for someone who works with other people’s skin – people are often surprised to find that this is a problem for me, so effective is Skin Food in keeping my hands soft and supple post gardening and the very many times I wash them throughout the day! But if you’re a fan of lemon and have brittle nails, please give the Citrus Hand and Nail cream a try and do feedback as to how it has helped you!
I hope you’ve enjoyed learning a little more about the Weleda citrus range. If you would like to sample any of the products, do get in touch and, if you are in the Doncaster area, you are welcome to book a one-to-one consultation or Wellbeing Event (more information below).
This May (2017) Weleda’s thank you gifts are based around citrus, so a fantastic opportunity to try them as a free add-on to your order! In addition, there is a great offer to get your ready for Father’s Day in June (although my 11 year old son is also a fan of the Men’s roll on deodorant – this gift set makes a great gift for preteens/teens). The wonderful Pomegranate Firming Eye Cream is the thank you gift for hosts/hostesses with over £150 sales from their event (along with 15% of total orders in FREE products), so this month is a great time to host an event (plus I have some “little extras” available as a thank you for booking – do contact me for details).
